Rabbi Paul L. Saal is the founding rabbi of Congregation Shuvah Yisrael in Simsbury, Connecticut.  He received smicha from the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations and has served on its Steering Committee for the past decade, presently as the chair-person of the Jewish Community Relations Committee.  He and his wife, Robbie, have four daughters.

 

 

 

 

Rabbi Dr. Michael Schiffman is Director of Chevra USA, formerly Anshe Rachamim Humanitarian Organization  and travels throughout the Former Soviet Union seeking to help elderly Jewish people in need.  Dr. Schiffman grew up in New York in a traditional Jewish family.  He has earned BA, MDiv and Dmin degrees.  He has had ongoing study of Talmud, Shulchan Oruch, and Chasidus with a Chasidic Rabbi and has led three Messianic Jewish congregations.  He presently serves on the Rabbinical Staff here at Congregation Shuvah Yisrael and on the Executive Committee of the UMJC as Secretary.  He has also served the UMJC as Treasurer, Theology Chairman, Credentials Chairman, Mid-West Regional Director, and International Liaison. He is co-founder of Hashivenu, and serves on the North American Halachic Council.   He has authored two books, and has been a frequent contributor of articles to Boundaries, Kesher, Messianic Outreach, and other publications.  Dr Schiffman is a lecturer on Messianic Judaism, History, Torah, and Messianic Worship, and is a Professor of Rabbinic Literature in the Messianic Jewish Theological Institute, and  an adjunct Professor at St. Petersburg Theological Seminary and Fuller Seminary.  He lives in Simsbury, CT, and has been known to enjoy a good cigar from time to time.
