A one-hour interactive study led by Rabbi Saal and various scholars-in-residence. Every Saturday at 2PM on zoom

May 23 – The Spring Feasts of Israel: A Lost Code for Jewish and Christian Practice (Part 4 Shavuot)

Presented Rabbi Paul Saal

It is commonly understood that Israel’s Holy Days are the unbroken master code of Judaism. Decipher them and you will discover the inner sanctum of the religion and the heart of the faith. Few though realize that these very same festivals are at the core of the early Christian faith that also blossomed from Israel’s experience. Rabbi Paul will speak on Shavuot as described in the Hebrew Scripture, practiced in Judaism, and layered in evolving Christian practice and Scripture.

May 30 – Shavuot: What Comes Next?

Presented by Rabbi Russ ResnikThe great outpouring of the Spirit on Shavuot/Pentecost is only the beginning of the Book of Acts, and just one component of the prophetic view of history that Acts reveals—a view that sheds light on events of our own time. This class continues the discussion from Rabbi Russ’s earlier class, “A Fresh Perspective on Pentecost,” and like it is based on Mark Kinzer’s recent book Jerusalem Crucified, Jerusalem Risen: The Resurrected Messiah, the Jewish People, and the Land of Promise.
